Legislative Matters Committee
Duties are to educate Members of the Legislature regarding issues of concern to the Speech/Language/Hearing Professionals in Utah, to monitor and address legislation, to attend Public Hearings representing USHA, to serve as an liaison to other allied health and educational agencies to support legislation that is mutually beneficial, to maintain contact with the Professional Licensing Board for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists, and to be aware of any licensing issues that require legislative change.

Long Range Planning Committee
Duties are to present an Annual Report at the Fall business meeting, to develop, update and monitor an Association Five Year Plan which will include financial goals, educational goals, and governmental and professional goals.

Membership & Recruitment Committee

Duties are to receive and process all applications for membership, to present to the Governing Board names of applicants to whom membership was denied and the reason for denial, to maintain current and accurate records of all Regular, Associate, Student and Life Members of USHA, and to recruit new Members.

The duties are to prepare a slate of nominees for each active office and to nominate individuals to receive the awards and honors of USHA and ASHA.

Professional Development Committee
The duties are to pursue avenues in which professionals in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology may engage in continuing education for professional growth, and to promote professional development of Members by encouraging collaboration in professional areas ( e.g., supervision, specialty certification, public school, private practice, clinic issues, etc.).

Professional Matters Committee
The duties are to develop and present to the Members suggestions for implementing policies and practices concerned with issues affecting the Speech-Language-Pathologists and Audiologists in Public School, Hospital/Clinic, Private Practice, and University employment settings, to act as a professional grievance committee empowered to hear grievances as a body and make recommendations to USHA, and to hear matters of professional interest regarding relationships, ethics, conduct, standards, and the well being of USHA.
An Ethics Roundtable was created to respond to the ethics questions and educational needs of the members of ASHA on the ASHA website.
